The main function of a nail base coat , or top coat , is to seal the applied polish. Its application increases the polish's durability and protects it from breakage or external damage. These products have a transparent, liquid texture, add shine and volume to the nails, and speed up drying.

Unlike a top coat , a clear base coat protects the nail itself. For this reason, it should be applied before nail polish , protecting the nail from any potential adverse effects. It also has strengthening properties, preventing nail breakage.

How to properly use base coat and top coat

Before starting to paint your nails with polish, you should clean them of any previous nail polish and trim them properly. Next, apply a layer of base coat to prepare the nail and protect it while the polish is on.

Once the base coat is applied, we should spread the polish from the center of the nail to the sides. For best results, we recommend applying two thin coats of the product. Before applying the second coat, the first coat must be dry.

To finish and present a professional finish, apply the top coat to the nail in the same way as the nail polish. Try to cover the entire nail with the product in just a few strokes to avoid clumping. Finally, moisten a cotton ball and remove any polish that may have spilled on your skin.
