FLORIDA WATER MURRAY AND LANMAN colony

Florida Water was created by Master Perfumer Robert I. Murray in New York (United States) at the beginning of the 19th century as a fresher version of the famous Eau de Cologne, placing more emphasis on the citrus notes of the Orange than on the Lemon and Neroli present in the original.

Such was its success that in less than a decade it surpassed its European rival in fame and began to be known as the "Most Famous Perfume in the World."

Its name refers to its floral base, which contains Lavender and Clove among its components, but also to the place where the Fountain of Eternal Youth was believed to be located, the North American State of Florida.

Today it is still used with the same original formula from 1808.
